Question 1

What is the correct passport photo size for eCitizen Kenya?

Accepted Answer

eCitizen Kenya requires a passport photo of 350x450 pixels with a maximum file size of 50KB and a plain white background. ImageKE automatically crops and compresses your photo to meet these exact requirements.

Question 2

What size must a US Visa or DV Lottery photo be?

Accepted Answer

The US Visa and DV Lottery require a square photo of at least 600x600 pixels and not more than 1200x1200 pixels, under 240KB, in JPEG format with a white background. ImageKE outputs exactly 600x600px under 230KB.

Question 3

How do I compress a photo to under 50KB for eCitizen?

Accepted Answer

Upload your photo to ImageKE and select 'eCitizen (Kenya)'. The tool automatically resizes to 350x450px and compresses the file below 50KB using iterative quality reduction — all in your browser, in seconds.

Question 4

Does ImageKE upload my photo or video to a server?

Accepted Answer

No. All image and video processing happens entirely in your browser using JavaScript and WebAssembly (FFmpeg.wasm). Your files are never sent to any server. This means the tool is fast, private, and works even with a slow connection.

Question 5

How do I convert a 16:9 video to 9:16 for TikTok or Instagram Reels?

Accepted Answer

Go to the Video Tools tab on ImageKE and select 'Crop & Aspect Ratio'. Upload your 16:9 video, choose the 9:16 target ratio, and use the focus slider to select which part of the frame to keep. The conversion happens entirely in your browser.

Question 6

How do I compress a video to under 16MB for WhatsApp?

Accepted Answer

Go to Video Tools on ImageKE and select 'WhatsApp Compressor'. Upload your MP4, choose the 16MB target, and click Render Preview. The browser compresses the video client-side using FFmpeg.wasm. Pay KES 99 to download the full-length clean version.

Question 7

How much does ImageKE cost?

Accepted Answer

Photo downloads cost KES 49 per clean (watermark-free) image. Video tool downloads cost KES 99 per output. For heavy users, the Creator Plan at KES 499/month gives unlimited video downloads. All payments are via M-Pesa through Paystack. No subscription is required for photos.
